Anna Silk was the first child of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a playwright, actor, director, producer as well as a teacher in St. Thomas University). Anna was born in Fredericton, the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of productions as a young girl as well as watching her mother at work. As a child, she was featured in a variety of commercials. Anna moved in Toronto so that her acting skills could improve. The actress later was able to move to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting workshop in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2009. The couple was married in a civil ceremony that December and renewed their vows in an Jewish wedding ceremony held in Fredericton in April of 2011 following Anna's conversion to Judaism.
