Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian born New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won an Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the empathetic and curious girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. When she responded to a request for open auditions when she was nine years old, with no prior experience acting, she won Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the child of the Scottish musician who was blind. The couple relocated into New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to plan a wedding. In her teens, she moved into the United States. Paquin had a small part in the film's title role when she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a smaller role. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed the character of the polexia Aphrodisa character on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
